My Guru Tusharda……
In 2017 my husband’s work took us all to Mumbai. While in Mumbai I had the good fortune to get to know Tusharda and my formal training in music started under his tutelage. Tusharda introduced me to the world of classical music. I found in him a musical genius, who has the ability to compose a bandish, thumri, ghazals and songs literally on the fly that too in several languages.
In our first meeting he asked me to sing a song of my choice. I had grown up in a family environment where Tagore’s songs were sung. As I sang one of Gurudev’s songs, I instantly connected with him. It was a great realisation for me how much he worshipped Gurudev and has been Tagore’s ardent follower and has translated many of his works.
In Tusharda, I found the teacher that I was always looking for, passionate about music and insists on regular riyaz. He would always say that if one wants to sing well one needs to first get a feel of the lyrics.
Tusharda’s first love has been the Sitar. He is a very accomplished Sitar player.
I look forward to every music session with Tusharda. His sessions are a therapy for me , makes me so happy and gives me a feeling of achievement. So much to learn !!!!!!!
