Sitar Player

Tushar Bhatia is an accomplished sitar player, nurtured over four decades by gurus of the stature of  Pt. P B Debburman & Pt. Arvind Parikh. His training in Indian Classical Music has been in the deepest traditions of the Itawa(Imdadkhani) Gharana, he himself believes very strongly in the beauty of language of the Sitar and is equally adept at Playing and Composing Gats in the Tantra Ang as well as Gayiki Ang(vocalised), in fact in his compositions very often there is a strong blend of the two.

He has a huge repertoire of not just traditional sitar gats, but also his own compositions in each raag. Having being trained in Vocal Music as well, he has converted numerous vocal compositions into the Sitar Baaj.

He strictly follows traditional structures of expositions such as Alaap, Jod, Jhaala, Vilambit, Drut and likes to go deeper into exploring traditional raags. He is equally adept at playing Thumris, Dadras and Dhuns.
